Kayak through the rock arch to reach this secluded romantic cove. A 3-day beach adventure perfect for those seeking privacy over crowded resorts.
Most people never even hear about this place and thats exactly why it still feels like a secret. Tucked away on one of the islands near Cabo San Lucas Playa del Amor hides inside a natural rock formation that looks exactly like a heart when you see it from above. But the real magic happens when you paddle your kayak through the narrow arch and suddenly the world outside disappears.
Day one you arrive and immediately head to the water. Rent a kayak from the small local guy on the beach and follow his simple directions. The paddle isnt too long but the moment you pass under the rock arch everything changes. The water inside the cove is calm and incredibly clear almost glowing turquoise. You pull the kayak up on the soft sand and just stand there for a while taking it all in. No loud music no crowds just the sound of gentle waves and maybe a few birds overhead. Spend the rest of the day exploring the small beach and swimming in the protected waters. When the sun starts to drop the colors inside the cave turn even more intense and you feel like youve found your own private piece of paradise.
The second day you take it slower. Wake up early and kayak back to the same spot while the light is still soft. This time you bring a small picnic and spend hours just floating in the water or lying on the sand. If you feel like moving you can snorkel around the edges of the cove where colorful fish swim right up to you. In the afternoon you climb the short trail to the top of the rock formation for that famous heart-shaped view. Its worth the little effort because from up there you really understand how special this place is. Back down on the beach you watch the tide slowly change the shape of the entrance and realise why so few people ever make it here at the same time.
On the third day you still have time for one more visit to the cove but you also explore the nearby coastline a bit. Paddle along the outside of the island and discover other small hidden inlets that almost nobody visits. Some of them have interesting rock formations and even better water clarity. In the late afternoon you return to Playa del Amor one last time to say goodbye. The light is golden the water is warm and you sit there thinking how different this feels from the usual packed beach resorts.
These three days fly by but they leave you with a very calm and happy feeling. You come back with salty hair and sand in your shoes but also with the memory of a beach that still feels undiscovered. If you are tired of noisy resorts and long for real privacy and natural beauty Playa del Amor delivers exactly that. Just remember to respect the place keep it clean and leave nothing behind except your footprints in the sand.
